Floor Staff (Lincoln, Boston-Dedham)

The floor staff at Rock Spot Climbing will work to ensure a safe and fun environment for our customers through instruction and group facilitation under the supervision of a shift supervisor.

Responsibilities will include:
Belaying for groups of climbers of all ages
Evaluating belayer competence through belay tests
Instructing new climbers on the safe use of automatic-belay devices and bouldering safety
Instructing on proper belay/safety technique through belay lessons
Monitoring the gym floor to ensure the safety of all customers
Cleaning tasks as necessary
Route maintenance tasks as necessary (e.g., Changing tape, tightening holds etc.)

Desired Skills and Experience:
High school Diploma or equivalent
Punctual and reliable
Previous indoor rock climbing and belaying experience
Safety conscious
Previous experience working with children
Customer service and sales experience
Outgoing, friendly personality

Youth Program Instructor (All Locations)

The Youth Program Instructors at Rock Spot Climbing will run weekly classes and special programming for youth at the facilities. All activities shall be conducted under the direction of the Director of Youth Programs and the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities will include:
Maintaining a safe, positive and productive learning atmosphere
Committing to a 12 week class schedule
Interacting professionally with both parents and students
Implementing and monitoring lesson plans and curriculum
Managing the flow of activities/learning during class as well as from week to week
Teaching hard skills (belaying and knots) as well as technique on the wall
Adapting and modifying lessons based on the needs of the students
Functioning as part of a team
Being able to perform all floor staff functions

Desired Skills and Experience:
Outgoing, friendly personality
Schooling in education, recreation, or a related field
Previous indoor rock climbing and belaying experience
Experience teaching/coaching a hands on skill or sport
Experience working with youth of all ages
Experience creating or implementing lesson plans
Ability to work nights/weekends
Ability to engage an audience
Ability to enforce rules and regulations
Detail oriented and organized
Punctual and reliable
CPR and First Aid (or willing to acquire)

ROCK SPOT CLIMBING is currently looking to hire an ASSISTANT MANAGER for our facilities in Boston-Dedham, MA and South Kingstown, RI!

Job Description

The assistant manager at Rock Spot Climbing is responsible for the day­to­day operations of
the facility, as well as all shift supervisors and floor staff. The assistant manager works
alongside the corporate management team under the supervision of the regional operations
manager.
Responsibilities will include:
Shift supervisor responsibilities, open/close the facility
Participate in hiring, firing, training, and evaluating managers/shift supervisors/floor staff under
the direction of the operations manager
Oversee supervisor team, delegating gym tasks and evaluating project progress
Schedule, organize and run manager meetings
Oversee the training of floor staff/shift supervisors with assistance of floor staff trainer
Create weekly schedule for part time floor staff
Oversee the retail store to assure it is clean, organized and stocked
Make sure all cleaning tasks are done as required
Review climbing wall maintenance manual and make sure inspections are completed daily
Be able to perform all floor staff functions
Other management duties as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree
Previous management experience with employees
Experience with employee scheduling
Ability to supervise
Ability to work nights/weekends
Ability to enforce rules and regulations

ROCK SPOT CLIMBING is currently looking to hire REGIONAL MARKETING ASSISTANT for our facilities in South Boston and Boston-Dedham!!

Job Description

The marketing assistant at Rock Spot Climbing will implement the marketing plan designed by the marketing director for an individual facility while working as the shift supervisor.  All activities shall be conducted under the direction of the marketing director and operations manager.

 

Responsibilities will include:

Maintain staff photo board
Maintain community bulletin board
Print and post announcements and advertisements throughout the facility
Outreach and securing partnerships
Work with Programs Managers to promote their events and classes to the Rock Spot community
Generate content for social media and e-newsletters
Represent Rock Spot Climbing at area events, expos and fairs
Shift supervisor shifts, open/close the facility
Be able to perform all shift supervisor functions
Be able to perform all floor staff functions
Provide input for agenda of manager meetings
Other management duties as assigned
